Experience and Skills Required:
• Banking and treasury product knowledge would be advantageous
• Up to date knowledge of tax legislation, IFRS & Financial modelling

Key deliverables:
• Responsible for administration of the finance department, management of the department’s staff and deliverables.
• Responsible for the monitoring and implementation of adequate internal control systems.
• Ensure best practice group cash management methodology, processes and systems.
• Prepare annual budgets and ensure proactive management of the same
• Prepare and monitor the organisation’s cash flow forecast, monthly, quarterly & annually for Management review and discussion, including presentation to the financial banks for new loan applications.
• Prepare financial models to assess viability of new projects (i.e. new property acquisitions and future developments).
• Review the commercial terms and tax implications of property acquisition legal agreements.
• Design funding structures for new projects to meet specific criteria associated with the project requirements by preparing capital asset financing packs for the banks for new property acquisitions and developments.
• Ensure that the monthly rental billings and related property recoveries from tenants are accurate, in accordance with the governing lease agreements and escalations applied correctly and timeously.
• Enforce stringent debtor collection procedures.
• Review and ensure that property, creditor, bond payments are timeously and accurately made.
• Review general ledger journal proposals to ensure alignment with applicable financial reporting standards
• Responsible for the timeous and accurate preparation of the group’s monthly management packs and year end audit packs together with the drafting of annual financial statements for the auditors.
• Review month to month management reports to ensure resulting trends are tracking against budget and expectations
• Prepare and/or review of the group’s provisional and income tax computations in accordance tax law.
• Liaise with SARS, draft objections to SARS disputes, prepare and/or review of schedules for VAT and income tax audits.
• Recommend and Implement process optimisation in the finance department.
